The osteogenesis assay kit is based on the alkaline phosphatase(ALP)-mediated conversion of p-nitrophenol phosphate to nitrophenol in an alkaline buffer.Nitrophenol exhibits an absorption maximum at 405-415 nm. The assay can also be used toexamine cell differentiation such as osteogenesis, which is associated with increasedexpression of ALP. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the assay solution should be avoided. Theenzyme assay system can be completed in as short as 10 minutes. The method is adaptableto automation.
